Description

Join us for a special presentation with industry and environmental experts as we discuss off-shore energy exploration. Natural gas and oil could be off the South Carolina coast line, what could this mean for the South Carolina economy and environment?

Our panelists will be:

Hamilton Davis is the Energy & Climate Director for the SC Coastal Conservation League. The Coastal Conservation League promotes the implementation of comprehensive local, state, and federal energy policies related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change.

Lewis Gossett is President & CEO of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance, the state's only statewide organization dedicated to the interests of manufacturers.

James Pickard is an exploration geophysicist, who worked in the oil & gas industry for 38 years before retiring and moving to Beaufort in 2011. Pickard has interpreted seismic data in many locations around the world, including the Gulf Coast (both offshore and onshore), Alaska, China, Australia, Canada, and Europe.

Thomas Winslow is a founding partner of Goldfinch Winslow, LLC in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.  In addition to his law degree, Winslow has an advanced degree in Maritime Law.

Steve Gilbert is retired from a career spanning over 32 years in Federal Service as a senior biologist, leader, and supervisor for two Federal agencies, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the NOAA Coastal Services Center. He currently consults as a Special Projects Manager for the South Carolina Wildlife Federation and serves on the Advisory Board of Audubon South Carolina where he is working on a climate change adaptation project centered on marsh migration in light of sea level rise.
